Blogger.com describes a blog as "...a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world." I could go on to describe them as "post-it notes to my life, musings into my mind..." etc, etc.
Four years ago, I embarked on a journey that has forever changed who I am as a person. I served within the Worship Ministries of a church, and it was during that time my passion for the arts in worship was awakened. In those years, I kept searching for what that meant to me, to others, to God...to borrow a term from the worship pastor I served with, there was no "language for my passion." I enrolled in Bethel University to complete my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication Studies. During that time, I started to learn the language of my passion. Not yet fluent, I enrolled in the Master's of Arts in Communication, and it was then that I began to not only learn, but to really begin to know and understand how to communicate my passion of the things on my heart.
I think of a quote I once heard..."I'm no critic, but I know what I hate" (anonymous). Really, I am not a trained artist. I can't paint, write a song, play an instrument well, or even completely read chord charts, but I do consider myself an artist...a worship artist. It is through this venue that I hope to share the many thoughts on my heart regarding not only arts or worship, but motherhood, work, school, media, or a multitude of other ideas. The possibilities are limitless...
